Summer in Berwang
In spring, autumn and summer you can enjoy Berwang and its surroundings. The beautiful nature, flower meadows, crystal clear mountain lakes, waterfalls and impressive mountain peaks. Berwang's cable cars - the Berwanger Sonnalmbahn and the Almkopfbahn Bichlbach - take you to beautiful viewpoints in summer, such as the Hochalm, a beautiful area for hikers, cyclists and paragliders. From here you can continue hiking to the Almkopf and enjoy a wonderful view of the Zugspitze massif and the Lechtal Alps.
Family Vacation
Berwang is the ideal starting point for numerous family-friendly summer activities. Hiking trails and adventure trails ( naturerlibnissweg Mitteregg ). Or a digital adventure walk . In Bichlbach you can do fun activities at the sports and leisure park such as climbing, flying fox, children's rafting and mini golf.
And from Berwang take the mountain roller down for a beautiful tour along streams and waterfalls.
The scooters are ready for you at the valley stations of the Almkopfbahn in Bichlbach and the Sonnalmbahn in Berwang. The lift takes you up the mountain and then you are off! Take a wonderful trip down the mountain path for young and old with the scooter. Small children can come with you on the tandum scooter.
Bear Bath Berwang
Berwang has its own outdoor pool in the middle of the forest with a mini golf, bouncy castle, playground, tennis courts and a kiosk, the Bärenbad Berwang! If you stay at Chalet Zur Rose you have free access to the pool with your guest card. Next to the pool is a beautiful playground for children that is freely accessible.
Tobogganing, Mountain carts and Monster rollers
In Biberwier you can experience a number of fun sports activities with the whole family. A 7.5 km long descent with a mountain cart or monster roller. Or tobogganing on the longest summer toboggan run in Tyrol.
Walking
Around Berwang, nestled in a sunny valley between the Lechtal Alps, you will discover all kinds of hiking trails. Trails suitable for pushchairs, trails to beautiful viewpoints, adventurous circular hiking trails, family hiking trails and spectacular mountain trails ensure that hiking in the Alps becomes an experience! A beautiful tour is the Rotlech Gorge, which is only a short walk from Chalet Zur Rose. From the viewing platform you can admire the Rotlech waterfall.
Or how about the Thaneller, 2,341 metres above sea level? High above Heiterwang, the Thaneller is enthroned with a magnificent view of Berwang and the sparkling turquoise waters of Lake Heiterwang. The Thaneller can be climbed as a hike or trail run for mountain sports enthusiasts!
Also visit the Almdorp Fallerschein . With more than 40 rustic mountain huts the largest mountain village in Tyrol.
The Tiroler Zugspitz Arena is rightly an extremely popular region among hikers, mountaineers and climbers. Conquering the famous Zugspitze at 2,962 metres is the ultimate feeling for many mountain lovers.
Misuse
In the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena you will find a paradise for cyclists, where an impressive selection of routes is suitable for every taste. Berwang, Ehrwald, Lermoos and Biberwier offer the greatest variety of routes, but the entire region enchants with picturesque gravel bike tours and cycle paths, as well as challenging MTB routes. In Berwang at Sportalm it is possible to rent bicycles and equipment.
Lakes
We are also surrounded by beautiful lakes, the most famous is the Heiterwangersee. Here you will find everything. Beach, boat trips, boat rental, fishing, stand-up paddling and of course swimming and bathing in the turquoise water with a fantastic panorama. But also the Plansee, Blindsee, Mittersee and Weissensee are worth a visit. And not to forget the breathtaking mountain lakes the Seebensee and Drachensee.
Golfing
Golfers among you can go to Ehrwald (9 holes) or to one of the other courses in the immediate vicinity.
Other highlights
the ' Highline 179 with 406 meters length and 115 meters height until recently the longest suspension bridge in the world. Who dares?
The Burgenwelt Ehrenberg of 4 castles and fortresses from the 14th to the 18th century. For lovers of history but also interesting for children because of the knight museum and the treasure hunt.
